My Grandma received the plant as a gift from a friend to cheer her up when she was sick. This was when she was only a teenager, so we estimate the plant is at least 70 years old. She kept the plant her whole life. Laura and I took over after she died in 2004. This year is the first year it has bloomed in a long time, certainly the first time since we've had it. So, we are very pleased to see it doing so well, and plan to continue to keep it happy and healthy.

Shellhorn Family Christmas
Jeff and I traveled to Kansas City for Christmas. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
Of course no trip to Kansas is complete without a seeing the KU Jayhawks in Allen Field House. On Saturday Jeff, Jeremy, Jay and went to the KU - Miami of Ohio game.

Before Christmas we did some last minute shopping on the Plaza, which was all lit up for the holidays.

Some pictures from Christmas morning:

Before we left we went to the new Sprint Center downtown and went to the new College Basketball Experience. If you are ever in KC, definitely check it out. It's really neat.
