People may say a lot of things about Obama, but you can't say that he isn't charismatic! The other morning, Shante just sat by the television enraptured. Then, when Hillary Clinton came on she simply walked away.

... in other news, Emily and Jim got engaged Saturday night. Despite sub-zero temperatures and widespread family deception, Emily was gracious enough to follow Jim out to the edge of Navy Pier where they got engaged overlooking Lake Michigan where they met. Even though she spent much of the previous weeks in suspicion of exactly why Jim was so adamant to take her out for her half-birthday, Emily was very surprised by the moment... she was also surprised when she and Jim arrived at Abby and Elizabeth's house to meet up for a short drink to find her and Jim's families gathered in celebration. While he's thrilled and relieved that everything worked out perfectly, Jim is also very grateful to his and Emily's family for keeping everything under wraps and to Abby and Elizabeth for hosting the after-party. Grandparents Anniversary Dinner

Jeff and I visited Fort Wayne last weekend to help Grandmother and Grandfather celebrate their anniversary. We went to 5 o'clock mass on Saturday and Father K. congratulated them on so many years together. They received a nice round of applause from the congregation and many congratulations afterwards. We had dinner at a restaurant called Hartley's and toasted to another great year ahead. Grandmother wore an adorable polka dot shirt that Grandfather gave her for Christmas. Happy Anniversary!
